On October 21, 2009, Chris Looney of the Georgia Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), presented Ten (10) Ballistic vests to the Stephens County Sheriff's Office. These vests were provided through the Georgia F.O.P.'s, "Operation Protect Our Protectors" ballistic vest program.  Accepting the vests for the Department was Sheriff Randy Shirley.
