Georgia Delegation at the 59th National Fraternal Order of Police Conference

The National Fraternal Order of Police unanimously passed a resolution dedicating its biennial conference to the memory of slain Georgia officer Mark Allen MacPhail

Nearly 3,000 delegates at the 59th Biennial National Conference of the Fraternal Order of Police in Long Beach, California, re-elected by acclamation Chuck Canterbury of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a fourth term as National President of the organization.

Also re-elected to the National Executive Board by the membership in Long Beach were National Vice President David Hiller of Michigan, and National Secretary Patrick Yoes of Louisiana, both of whom were re-elected to their third term in contested races. National Treasurer Thomas Penoza of Delaware was re-elected to his sixth term, and both National Second Vice President Frank Gale of Colorado and National Sergeant-at-Arms Tim Downs of Indiana were re-elected to their second terms. Joe Perkins, National Trustee from the Oklahoma State Lodge, was elected as the Chairman of the National Board of Trustees.

Founded in 1915, the Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers. The FOP is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.
